CHARLOTTE, NC -- Canteen Vending Services has acquired Vista, CA-based NCV Refreshment Services, one of the largest vending and office coffee service companies in the Western U.S. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
NCV Refreshments operated branches in California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and Utah. Canteen's purchase included nine of the sites; NCV's Southwest branches in Las Vegas and St. George, UT, were not part of the acquisition.
Canteen Vending, a division of Charlotte-based Compass Group North America, has a 200-branch network of company and franchise locations in 48 states.
NCV Refreshment Services was founded by John and Shirley Sowell in 1977. The husband and wife business team started the local vending company, originally called North Country Vending, to supplement retirement pay John was receiving after serving 20 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. It grew out of a residential garage into a multistate vending, foodservice and OCS concern.
