CUMBERLAND, RI -- Alan Ramsay, president of CLM Entertainment, died suddenly at his home here on June 12. He was 41.

Ramsay was a longtime member of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and an executive officer of the New England Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. He was also a columnist for Play Meter, the New Orleans-based amusement trade magazine.

"The amusement world has lost a dedicated supporter who was always ready to share his experiences and expertise with others for the betterment of the industry," wrote PM editor Bonnie Theard. "We will forever be grateful that he graced the pages of Play Meter, and we will miss his valuable contribution."

Ramsay began his amusement industry career in 1986 at Rocky Point Park in Warwick, RI, and later managed Roger Williams Park and worked for Ripley Entertainment Inc. He owned Providence, RI-based CLM Entertainment for the past 10 years, and was the principal trainer and risk evaluator there. He developed amusement ride training manuals adapted to the needs of different national and world regions.

Ramsay is survived by his father, Burton E. Ramsay; mother, Judith Y. Culgin; stepfather, Robert Culgin; and sister, Kimberly Ann Picard, and her children.
