DeMet's Acquires Frito-Lay’s TrueNorth

STAMFORD, CT -- DeMet's Candy Co. announced that it has completed the acquisition of the TrueNorth nut snack brand from Frito-Lay North America, a division of PepsiCo Inc.

TrueNorth all-natural snacks include nut clusters, nut crisps and whole nuts. DeMet's will merge the line into its existing portfolio of confectionary products, which includes DeMet's Turtles, Flipz, Treasures and Stixx.

DeMet's is owned by Greenwich, CT-based private equity fund Brynwood Partners. It is headquartered in Stamford, CT, and operates manufacturing facilities in Big Flats, NY, and Mohnton, PA.
