CHAM, Switzerland -- Selecta, Europe's largest vending machine operator, and Russian vending equipment manufacturer Unicum have partnered to develop Selecta's next generation food and beverage machines.
The companies said the jointly designed machines will feature a 15" touchscreen with an intuitive graphical user interface, multi-vend capability via "basket" shopping and up to 50% more capacity for a wider product offering. The machines' modern design will incorporate integrated side panels for advertising and "superior" ergonomic product and change delivery. Telemetry will be standard in all of the equipment.
Unicum will reportedly manufacture more than 3,000 machines for Selecta.
"Attractive, modern and exclusively developed machines designed by Selecta are a key asset to differentiate ourselves in a competitive market environment," said Patrick Koller, operations development director Selecta. "We chose to partner with Unicum due to their excellent mechanical and software engineering skills as well as their proven experience with bi-directional telemetry."
Selecta expects to introduce first of the next-generation vending machines this fall.
