NASHVILLE -- The Jukebox License Office, based here, has announced increases in the license rates for music performed on compact disc or 45-RPM vinyl-record jukeboxes. In 2012, the fee for an operation's first box goes up to $454 from $439. Each subsequent jukebox licensed by the same business costs $105, up $4 from the previous rate.
Members of the Amusement and Music Operators Association are entitled to a discounted rate of $77 a jukebox after purchasing the first license at its full price. The AMOA rate had been $74.
To qualify for the member rate, an operator must submit a 2012 Schedule A and payment by March 15, 2012, as well as submitting an AMOA member ID and proof that its association dues have been paid in full.
Details on AMOA membership may be had at amoa.com.
