L.M. Becker & Co. Taps Campbell President, Jonathan Becker Executive Vice-President

Hank Schlesinger

APPLETON, WI - L.M. Becker & Co. has announced the appointment of Marlene Campbell to the position of president. Campbell will assume all responsibilities for the management of L.M. Becker & Co. Inc., the parent company of Toy 'n Joy and Kid Zone. Campbell, who has served with the firm for almost 33 years, most recently held the position of executive vice-president.

Campbell's appointment marks the first time in the 62-year history of the family-owned company, founded by bulk vending  pioneer Lyle M. Becker, a top executive post will be held by someone outside the Becker family.

"With nearly 33 years in the bulk vending business, virtually all of which have been spent in management at our company, Marlene Campbell was an obvious choice for the position of president," said Lyle Becker, interim president of L.M. Becker & Co. "The company's management board is thrilled with the decision and her acceptance of the position, as we are all confident she will continue to raise the bar for providing quality products and services for our customers."

L.M. Becker & Co. also announced the appointment of Jonathan Becker as executive vice-president. Becker will provide support to management in such specialized projects as computerized inventory control and maintenance, quality control testing and management, and new equipment development and implementation.

The decision to name both Campbell and Becker to the company's management team follows the recent departure of the company's former president, Peter Becker. The company plans to maintain the current structure of the organization in its entirety, with Toy 'n Joy and Kid Zone both operating as they have with regard to sales, accounting, new product development, and marketing and merchandising.

"My goals for the organization are to continue building on the successful foundation established over the past sixty-plus years," said Campbell. "The Toy 'n Joy and Kid Zone brand names have allowed L.M. Becker and Co. to provide its customers with unique advantages in the marketplace. By employing the tactics and strategies we've utilized since I joined the company, I know we can continue to set new standards in the industry for trend-setting product lines and top-quality merchandise collections."

Campbell also noted Jonathan Becker's contributions to company's new management organization. "He brings a unique combination of skill sets to the organization, with his in-depth level of understanding of the bulk vending industry and expertise from his work outside the company," she said.
