ST. LOUIS, MO — New from Coin Acceptors is the Guardian 6000, a 6-tube changer incorporating “practical intelligence” to expedite setup and field service. The new changer made its debut at the National Automatic Merchandising Association National Expo.
According to Coinco, the Guardian 6000 is the industry’s first self-replenishing 6-tube changer that permits using a single cassette configuration to virtually eliminate “change starvation” and the need for multiple payout configurations. Optional $1 coin tubes allow the changer to deliver the highest change-making capacity, for large-denomination bill acceptance.
The Guardian 6000 was developed on the basis of numerous field studies, customer surveys and user feedback. This process identified a desire for a changer design that strikes a balance between “intelligence” and practicality in day-to-day use. Accordingly, the new model has been designed to minimize configurations, simplify setup, maximize reliability and effectively communicate changer status and coin activity.
“This approach will lead to increased profits and operational efficiencies to be realized through reduced setup errors, fewer service calls and optimized cash management,” Coinco stated.
Audible and visual status notification and self-diagnostics reduce downtime and keep service costs to a minimum by correcting field-repairable errors when the machine is restocked. The payout assembly is built around a single-motor ratchet drive, proven over a decade of use to be one of the most reliable dispensing mechanisms in the industry.
Hands-free coin loading, auto float paydown, and an illuminated payout area contribute to fast, accurate coin loading without the need to remove the cassette from the changer. And an intuitive LCD menu structure eliminates the need to navigate through complex layers of data to understand basic changer modes or determine status.
“Our goal was to take a high-tech product and apply what we refer to as ‘Practical Intelligence,’” said Tom Paczkowski, director of marketing for Coin Acceptors. “The Guardian 6000 has been specifically designed to anticipate each step in the changer fill and service process. It automatically communicates relevant information via the LCD without ever needing to touch a button.”
This design philosophy has proven successful, according to sales vice-president Bill Johnson. “Our customers are finding the Guardian 6000 both intuitive and very simple to use,” he reported. “We have aligned all operational aspects of our new changer with the needs of our customers.’”
