"Congresswoman Roby is an excellent leader in Alabama and in Congress, and we were honored to host her during her district visit here in Dothan," said Pemberton, who is also a member of the National Automatic Merchandising Association's board of directors. "We were excited to show her the level of expansion that our company has sustained over the years, due largely to our commitment to explore various avenues of vending and foodservice, and provide quality products to our customers.
"Further, we are proud of our focus on providing high-quality food throughout vending and micromarket channels," he added.
NAMA legislative director Sheree Edwards, who took part in the tour, observed that "This is a great example of advocacy in action. Rep. Roby's stopover to the Pepi Cos. was another effective way to showcase the industry to federal officials when they return home to conduct work in their congressional districts.
"Congresswoman Roby is a supporter of America's small businesses, especially those in her district, such as Pepi," Edwards explained. "During the visit, she was very interested in understanding the contributions the industry makes to the economy and the communities they serve."
Rep. Roby has served in Congress since January 2011 representing Alabama's 2nd Congressional District.
The Pepi Cos. provide food, vending, micromarket, coffee and pure water service solutions, and design and manage breakrooms and dining centers, for clients in Alabama, Florida and Georgia.
