Face Place Theme Park

GREENVALE, NY -- Weatherized and fortified, the new Face Place Theme Park Edition takes photobooth operations outdoors. Apple Industries built the enclosed imaging kiosk to repel the elements so operators can provide the same features found in the manufacturer's popular indoor models.

The new Face Place is made of steel, which is powder-coated and treated to resist rain, wind and variable temperatures. It uses Pyramid Technologies' new Aqua water-resistant bill validator and MagTek's PermaSeal credit card reader. Other components, like the booth's 32"outer display monitor and curtain, are weather-resistant, too.

The weatherized unit includes all of the same features as the firm's standard Face Places, including remote management and social media interaction.

The Face Place Theme Park is also equipped with lockable wheels that permit the machine be moved into shelters at night or during the offseason. It measures 70" long x 36" wide by 83" high, and weighs 875 lbs.

"Our new booth is an ideal solution for theme parks, outdoor areas at FECs, boardwalks like at the Jersey Shore and similar places," said Apple president Warren Friss. "Theme parks are obviously a major market -- and photobooths perform very, very well at them. However, the theme park market has not been served well by the photobooth industry, until now."

While theme parks and tourist attractions are profitable locations for photobooths, they have been limited to indoor spots within parks. Apple's new Face Place attempts to change that. Even more, its large exterior monitor can perform double-duty by promoting attractions or sales within the location.

As with the company's standard Face Place systems, the Theme Park Edition features a Mitsubishi dye-sub printer and runs Apple's Smile 2.0 software. The software system enables touchscreen navigation, and permits patrons to share their photobooth content on social media like Facebook and Twitter or to email photos. It can record audio and video, which can be distributed electronically.

Face Place's vended photograph formats include classic strips and 4x6 prints. Customers can choose from a wide variety of special effects and formats.

Smile 2.0 includes remote monitoring and management software, and supports credit/debit card payments. Once Smile 2.0 is running on a machine, software updates are uploaded automatically. Communication is accomplished via a broadband landline or wirelessly.

Apple Industries is headquartered at 200 Forest Dr., Bldg. 8, Greenvale, NY 11548; tel. (516) 619-8000.
