Coin Free Plans AMOA Debut For 3 Cashless Payment Kits Engineered To Upgrade Merit’s Megatouch Game Series

(September 2007) — Coin Free LLC has announced the rollout of a line of retrofit kits at this year’s AMOA Expo. The three kits are designed to permit the addition of major credit and debit card acceptance to  Merit Entertainment’s popular Megatouch series of games.

Coin Free reports that it is working with an experienced amusement operation, C&M Darts, to field-test the kits at sports bars throughout central Florida.

The easy-to-install kits are supplied with custom brackets to attach Coin Free’s flagship BUMP Basic Unattended Micro-Payment system to the game cabinet, directly above the bartop game’s touchscreen display. BUMP is compliant with the PCI (Payment Card Industry) standard, and supports a variety of value-added services including customer loyalty programs, value pricing strategies, personalized greetings and even gift card handling. It provides bidirectional data transfer for exchanging information with financial service provider networks and other remote clients.

The BUMP module incorporates a small, full-color backlit LCD screen that attracts attention with eye-catching graphics, then provides highly visible instructions to guide the patron through the transaction. It is programmable for up to three bonus-pricing schedules, which allows operators to promote sales by presenting attractive offers like “Six games for $5.”

A kit can be installed in less than 20 minutes; the procedure involves little more than drilling four holes through the metal game cabinet to accept the back-mounted studs that secure the BUMP module. Each kit comes with a 1:1 mounting template, “plug’n play” cable harness and the operator’s choice of any of three connectivity options. Kits are available to interface with networks through Ethernet cabling, a broadband Internet connection or a wireless link. In gamerooms, several BUMP modules can be connected wirelessly through a central receiving station, using RF, WLAN or Ethernet topology.

Coin Free offers a range of products and services including cashless payment and remote monitoring solutions for pay-per-play games, vending machines and kiosks. Its turnkey packages include wireless connectivity and merchant processing services as well as all necessary hardware. The company also can provide custom OEM integration and simple cashless payment system upgrades for a wide variety of existing equipment.
