PURCHASE, NY-- PepsiCo Inc. said Enderson Guimaraes has joined the company as president of global operations. He succeeds Richard Goodman, who is retiring by the end of 2011 after 17 years with the company.
Guimaraes comes to PepsiCo from Electrolux, where he was executive vice-president and chief executive of its appliance business for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. At PepsiCo, Guimaraes will be responsible for strategic sourcing management, global operations, business and information solutions and global productivity.
Prior to joining Electrolux, Guimaraes was senior vice-president and head of global marketing management at Philips Electronics. He also has worked at Danone, as marketing director in Brazil, and at Johnson & Johnson in brand management
The news follows last week's announcement that Pepsi is combining its drinks and snacks businesses. PepsiCo also announced a senior leadership shuffle, including a new head for its U.S. beverages unit, earlier this month.
