HIGH POINT, NC -- Microtronic US is rolling out a low-profile self-checkout system designed to meet the needs of smaller locations, and with a smaller price tag than most conventional micromarket models.
The "mini" self-checkout kiosk -- priced at $3,500 -- is built into a freestanding cabinet that provides a surface on which users can place their items during the checkout process.
Customers can pay with a credit card, debit card or Microtronic prepaid card, to which they can add value with credit or debit cards, using the micromarket touchscreen. Patrons use the company's standalone loading station to add cash to their prepaid cards to minimize long lines forming at the micromarket kiosk.
Also new from Microtronic is its micromarket-specific fixture and component system designed to create a "market space" that can be efficiently monitored. It can be adapted to meet operators' unique space requirements. Special pricing is available for Microtronic customers.
