AMI Jukebox PHILADELPHIA -- AMI Entertainment Network's eagerly awaited Video Upgrade Kit is now available. The upgrade package for AMI's popular line of NGX digital jukeboxes allows the operator to connect an NGX jukebox to a nearby television receiver, offering patrons the opportunity to choose from thousands of music videos, as well as their favorite songs from AMI's music library.

According to the manufacturer, the music video playback is simple and straightforward, blending with the familiar AMI jukebox experience. Songs may be selected from a video-equipped NGX jukebox or AMI's BarLink mobile app; in either case, the patron can choose to pay one extra credit to enjoy a music video accompanying the selection on the connected TV. A special icon identifies songs that are available as music videos. There are thousands of videos to choose from, encompassing not only modern hits, but also well-remembered songs from the '80s and '90s.

Because music video playback is offered as an upgrade during standard song selection, the AMI upgrade offers operators an attractive additional revenue option that does not interfere with traditional audio jukebox usage. When a purchased video is not playing, the connected TV displays an eye-catching promotional loop to call attention to the jukebox and informs patrons about the new music video option.

The video upgrade is designed for easy installation, and ships with everything needed to connect an NGX to an existing TV, including a 25-ft. HDMI cable, a new GeForce video card and a 1-terabyte hard drive preloaded with thousands of music videos. The video feature requires a hardwired high-capacity Internet connection in order for the jukebox to receive future video updates.

Several versions of the kit are available, chosen by the operator to match the core computer installed in the NGX machine being upgraded. Information on the kit that will work best with a particular NGX configuration may be found at amientertainment.com/videoupgrade or requested from local AMI music distributors.

In April 2013, AMI offered a limited-time promotion that included a free video upgrade kit with the purchase of a new NGX jukebox. Video kits have been shipped to the operators who took advantage of this offer.

Promotional table-tents and posters are available to help operators introduce the new music video feature to locations. These may be requested from local AMI sales managers.
