Ecast"SAN FRANCISCO -- Ecast Inc. has released the latest version of the software for its digital music platform. Version 3.5.2 is said to offer substantially faster dynamic content delivery -- song selections, games, contests and surveys -- to Ecast's installed base of classic digital downloading jukeboxes. It also provides additional functionality to the EQ touchscreen digital jukebox through the implementation of Belt 2.0.

Ecast's nationwide network now supports more than 10,000 jukeboxes. The majority of those boxes predates the EQ, and will benefit from improved graphics rendering speed. The new software version also provides support for the Ecast hardware upgrade kit.

The new EQ jukeboxes (wall-mounted units with vertical 40" touchscreens) can accommodate a wider range of social-networking applications through the software release.

Applications that have found favor among smartphone users, including the Wiffiti messaging service and Jumbli word game, can now run in the EQ "belt," the central area of the large vertical screen. Support for the popular Flickr image-sharing service has been enhanced.

Other enhancements include Spanish-language support, allowing consumers to toggle quickly between English and Spanish text displays.

The EQ jukebox is described in greater detail at ecasteq.net or at vendingtimes.com.
