THE AMUSEMENTS INDUSTRY IN WARTIME
LAS VEGAS --(Posted March 13) By the time the Amusement Showcase International begins in Las Vegas on March 23, this country may be at war, and the U.S. industry could have its first wartime show since Vietnam. According to an editorial by VENDING TIMES music and games editor Marcus Webb, "If hostilities break out, members of this industry should not alter their plans to attend ASI. Nor should they feel sheepish about their profession just because bombs are falling elsewhere' Granted, fun and games may look more frivolous than ever during wartime. But 'mere' frivolity attains an absolute political value, when that war is waged against puritanical fundamentalists." Read the full editorial in this month's VENDING TIMES, arriving in mailboxes now.
