PULASKI, WI -- New from Bay Tek Games is Road Trip, a prize dispensing game that offers players a transcontinental challenge. It incorporates the same play principle as Bay Tek's popular arcade piece Big Bass Wheel and its smaller stablemate, Big Bass Wheel Pro (see VT, March 2009).
Road Trip invites the player to spin a wheel three times by working a vertical handle resembling a bicycle pump. Each spin generates a number of miles. If the total mileage is sufficient for a trip from New York to Chicago, the contestant can choose a small prize or opt to try another three spins with the goal of reaching Denver. If that choice again produces a successful outcome, the player can select a medium prize or try to complete the trip -- to Hollywood -- with three final spins. Reaching that destination is rewarded with a desired large prize.
Shipping in August, Road Trip is available in a choice of white or black cabinet, and with provision for dispensing the small prizes in either capsule or spindle format. It measures 78.5" H. x 35" W. x 32" D.
According to Bay Tek sales and marketing chief Rick Rochetti, the new skill game has proven successful across a diverse cross-section of locations, from bowling centers and water parks through family entertainment centers and casinos to sports bars and large retail chains. Its small footprint enables it to fit well into locations where space is at a premium.
"This is it," Rochetti stated. "This is the game that will fill that street demand. We are very confident that this is the piece for the fall."
Operators attending the Amusement and Music Operators Association's International Expo in Las Vegas this September will have the opportunity to play Road Trip in the Bay Tek exhibit. Bay Tek is based in Pulaski, WI, and online at baytekgames.com.
