BETHESDA, MD -- Honest Tea, which has an established following for its organic bottled teas, is now offering a line of iced teas for foodservice.
The teas, designed for brewing in specialty Honest Tea-branded Bunn beverage systems, come in four varieties. Classic Green Tea is sweetened with "just a tad" of organic cane sugar. Just Iced Tea is an unsweetened black tea sourced from tea gardens in the Assam region of India. Caffeine-free Lemon Herbal Tea blends Indian tulsi (also known as Holy Basil), lemongrass, lemon peel and lemon myrtle to create a mildly spicy, yet calming taste.
Rounding out the offerings is Raspberry Tea, made with black tea sourced from the Korakundah tea gardens in southern India combined with pieces of organic orange peel that carry the natural raspberry flavors. Organic purple potatoes are used for a rich berry color.
The fresh-brewed foodservice iced tea varieties were adapted from Honest Tea's bottled Classic Green Tea, Just Green Tea, Heavenly Lemon Tulsi and Raspberry Fields. All of them are USDA organic and Fair Trade certified.
Honest Tea was purchased by Coca-Cola Co. in 2011 and operates as an independent business unit.
