SAN DIEGO -- Fresh Healthy Vending is using $1 million in grant funds to acquire locations. The business opportunity company will offer financial incentives to schools and businesses that sign on for its "healthy" vending machines. The company did not disclose the source of its grant funding.
Through the grant-based initiative, schools can receive a $1,000 grant for flipping existing machines to Fresh Healthy Vending equipment. Likewise, businesses can receive $250, $375 and $500 for one, two and three or more machines.
Fresh Healthy Vending franchisees stock their machines exclusively with natural and organic products, including fresh vegetables, fruits, yogurts, smoothies, fruit juices, tea and granola bars, among other items. The company recently rolled out a combination machine, made by Seaga, that vends gourmet hot beverages, along with "healthy" snacks and cold drinks. | SEE STORY
