Oct. 14, 2003: Dixie-Narco and Fastcorp Form Alliance; Hershey And ScentAir Unveil A Scent To Spur Sales

DIXIE-NARCO AND FASTCORP PACT TO PROVIDE SUPPLY AND DISTRIBUTION INITIATIVES TO VENDORS

NEWTON, IA - Maytag Corp.'s (NYSE: MYG) Dixie-Narco Vending Systems and Food Automation Systems Technology Inc., known as Fastcorp, have formed an alliance for product initiatives for the vending industry. The partnership will initially include supply and distribution initiatives, but could expand into other areas in the long term. "This relationship with Fastcorp further diversifies Dixie-Narco's business base and revenue stream," said Doug Huffer, president of Dixie-Narco. "It also demonstrates Maytag's commitment to growing its presence in the vending industry. By working with Fastcorp, Dixie-Narco is able to offer its vending customers new product and service offerings." Dixie-Narco has previously announced similar agreements with Nippon Conlux of Japan and the Bianchi Vending Group of Italy. "We are excited about this alliance," said Fastcorp president Mark Rogers. "Our new relationship with Dixie-Narco will enable both companies to explore new vending opportunities and introduce our businesses in many new markets around the world."

 

HERSHEY'S, SCENTAIR TO INTRODUCE CHOCOLATE-BASED SCENT FOR SNACK AND BEVERAGE MACHINES AT NAMA NATIONAL EXPO

WASHINGTON, DC , At the upcoming NAMA National Expo here (Oct.16-18), Hershey's booth #1251 will showcase scent sampling technology for OEM vending applications from ScentAir Technologies Inc. of Santa Barbara CA. ScentAir manufactures patented, dry air scent systems, which emit high quality scents in a controllable way without the use of sprays or heat. The new "ScentPOP" system, which covers approximately 200 square feet, is ideal for integration with snack and beverage vending machines to increase vending sales. Recent ScentAir testing with chocolate increased category sales 66% and overall machine sales 12%, the company reports. Replaceable scent cartridges last approximately one month.
