OAK BROOK, IL -- McDonald's customers in two U.S. cities can now use their smartphones to order and pay for Big Macs and fries. The fast-food giant is reportedly testing a mobile payment application in Salt Lake City, UT, and in Austin, TX.

Once customers place their orders using their cellphones, they can pick them up in restaurants, curbside or at drive-thru windows. The app also includes customer-engagement solutions like targeted promotions and a mobile-loyalty system.

In 2011, McDonald's Corp. introduced a mobile phone app the lets U.S. customers locate restaurants and view nutrition information.

Incidentally, Salt Lake City and Austin were also the test markets the Isis mobile wallet, which is gearing up for a nationwide launch. | READ MORE
