CINCINNATI -- AdvancePierre Foods has reformulated and renamed its popular Grahamwich to meet demand for school-friendly convenience foods.
Now called Whole Grain Graham Snackers, the individually wrapped handheld meal features peanut butter and grape jelly sandwiched in between two whole-grain graham crackers. It is considered to be a good source of fiber and protein, and provides 15g. of whole grains in each serving. In addition to vitamin B and iron, whole grains provide vitamin E, magnesium and fiber, nutrients often lacking in children's diets, according to AdvancePierre.
Whole Grain Graham Snackers are included in AdvancePierre Foods' Smart Picks products line, which contains less sodium, no partially hydrogenated oils and more whole grains than traditional menu items. They are currently available to schools and nationwide through most broadline foodservice distributors.
