CHICAGO -- The Amusement and Music Operators Association has adopted a new mission statement, produced chiefly for internal guidance. The mission states:

"The sole purpose of the AMOA is to continually leverage and optimize our collective resources, energies, expertise and knowledge in order to provide, promote and excite best interest business outcomes for all our members, creating a constant catalyst for industry growth and revitalization, balancing entrepreneurial spirit and passionate professionalism, while inspiring knowledge through education, experience and entertainment excursions."

The reference to "entertainment excursions" denotes the concept that playing a coin-operated game or jukebox takes customers on a brief "trip" into a world of entertainment within the location. The concept is a main marketing theme of Circone + Associates, AMOA's new branding and marketing consulting firm.

C+A president Brad Circone said the new mission statement is an informal document, intended chiefly for internal guidance by AMOA policymakers. SEE STORY

Separately, the association said its Marketing Committee for the 2012 Amusement Expo has adopted "Your Keys To Real Value" as the theme for the trade show, which takes place in Las Vegas, March 14-16. The show is cosponsored by AMOA and the American Amusement Machine Association.
