ekken Tag Tournament 2 – Tag Assault, Namco, Namco Bandai, arcade video game game, video game tournament, Mad Catz
CHICAGO -- Namco Bandai is teaming with Mad Catz, a provider of competition-grade arcade sticks and other game controls, to run a nationwide tournament on Namco's new Tekken Tag Tournament 2-Tag Assault, as a field test, said Namco community manager Rich Bantegui.
TTT2 debuted as an arcade game in Japan in September, followed by official international release in October. The new videogame is being distributed through the coin-op arcade channel.
The promotion is called Northeast Championship XII. Original announcements on player fan sites said competition will take place in five different arcades across the nation: Next Level Arcade (New York City), Round One Entertainment (City of Industry, CA), Super Arcade (Walnut, CA), Fun Works (Honolulu, HI) and Arcade UFO (Austin, TX). But a followup posting from Bantegui cancelled the New York City engagement for lack of compatible game cabinets.
Dates and times for the tournament will be announced soon. A preview of the game has been posted on Facebook.
