ST. LOUIS, MO -- ITC Systems reports that its extensive line of card readers includes models compatible with legacy Debitek magnetic-stripe readers, which have been discontinued by Heartland Payment Systems (Princeton, NJ).
ITC Systems has supplied magnetic card readers for card formats including XCP, ICS, ACT, ACDI, Danyl and Debitek.
"ITC Systems can swap out your Debitek system, using the same card currently in the hands of your users, and enhance the format to become the most secure stored value magnetic stripe on the market today," the company explained. "Or, instead of swapping the whole system out, ITC Systems can simply add our readers to your current Debitek fleet and replace them slowly over time." This alternative does not require the complete, costly change of a currently operational installed system.
ITC Systems reports that it can supply compatible readers for applications including MDB vending, cash-to- card, card dispensers and card encoders, as well as copier multifunction devices and gang laundry controllers.
Operators may prefer this alternative to the solution proposed by Heartland, which is to replace existing magnetic-card systems with its smart card technology. ITC noted that smart cards are four to six times as expensive as magnetic-stripe cards, and require new hardware, too.
ITC Systems' extensive line of cashless payment solutions is described at itcsystems.com.
