GlobalSAN JOSE, CA -- The highly anticipated update kit for Global VR's Nascar Racing is now shipping. The factory also is offering the new videogame in standard and deluxe dedicated cabinets.

Called Nascar Team Racing, the latest title in the EA Sports franchise offers new drivers licensed from Nascar's 2010 team roster. It also has such new tracks as the Texas Motor and Michigan International Speedways, along with a fantasy stretch called Crag Canyon. A team bonus boosts speed when players "draft" with teammates, allowing them to exploit the lead car's slipstream. Also new are a user interface that enhances the virtual driving experience and a card-swipe loyalty utility, which enables location identification and statistics retrieval.

"Initial reaction to our new fantasy track has been fantastic, as has the team play feature," said Global VR game producer Mike Kruse. "Initial test earnings have shown that players are ready for this new game and the features it delivers."

Global VR, which has adapted several Electronic Arts titles for coin-op, released the first Nascar Racing arcade game in 2007.

The Team Racing kit, which updates legacy Nascar drivers, includes software, cabinet graphics and a card reader, which is standard equipment on dedicated units. Team Racing can also connect to the Internet, and Global VR plans to offer head-to-head networked play in the near future. Networked games will feature a special track and post high scores on a leaderboard.
