BRISTOL, PA -- Megatouch LLC reports that the final software release for its Megatouch Live systems is being downloaded to all its ML-1 terminals. Version 3.5.1 allows all Megatouch Live game terminals to operate without connection to the Megatouch server; features requiring server connectivity are slated to be disabled in the near future.
Besides the offline system conversion, other V3.5.1 features include a free play option, a selectable blue menu "skin" that resembles the familiar Megatouch Ion platform and 15 implementations of classic games. The new classics are Box Drop, Checkerz, Coco Loco, Feeding Frosty, Ink Rally, Kids Kolortime, Magic Charms, Megatouch Memory, Megatouch Switcheroo, Moondrop, QB Zone, Sticker Book, Tricky Fish, Vinci Ball and Wild Ape. This update brings the total number of games on the Megatouch Live ML-1 to 141.
The final software release also enables Web browsing capabilities for players. Operators can customize the new browser homepage with as many as 12 quick links, giving players direct access to whichever popular Web pages the operator chooses to offer. Players can navigate the Internet and control the audio volume, enjoying a full online experience right on the ML-1.
Operators can customize the pricing for Web browser access by setting the desired credit amounts and related time constraints. According to Megatouch, this feature delivers an easy, modern Internet browsing experience to players.
With 15 game titles and several features, the V3.5.1 release is a fairly large download. Megatouch therefore recommends that ML-1s be connected to a high-speed cable connection when possible, to avoid exceeding cell router data limits.
In early January, Megatouch announced that it was ceasing all development and production of touchscreen terminals and associated software. | SEE STORY
