CORONA, CA -- AVT Inc. said it is preparing to ship Flix on Stix kiosks, which allow consumers to download digital movies, music and television programs to their portable memory devices. Flix on Stix developed the encryption technology and interface that allow consumers to download the digital content through the self-serve kiosk designed by AVT.

The Flix on Stix kiosk uses an Internet connection and proprietary download encryption technology to transfer content onto any portable flash drive in a matter of seconds, AVT claims. The digital content can be viewed on PC or Macintosh computers, or set-top TV boxes.

In addition to offering a virtually limitless array of titles, the system provides first-run movies well before they are available on DVD or Blu-ray, or through Internet subscription services, according to AVT officials.

AVT said Flix on Stix will begin rolling out to over 20,000 locations within the next few months.
