IRWINDALE, CA -- Ready Pac Foods Inc. is offering a new line of organic single-serve salads well suited for vending and micromarkets, and now available for national distribution.
Packaged under the Ready Pac Bistro brand, the salads come in four varieties. Caesar cranberry features organic grilled chicken, dried fruit, parmesan cheese and a reduced-fat Caesar dressing. Orange ginger tofu is a vegan option featuring teriyaki tofu with orange-ginger dressing. The zesty harvest grains salad features golden quinoa, dried fruit and nuts and beans with zesty orange vinaigrette. Honey mustard spinach combines baby spinach, dried fruit and nuts, along with cheese, beans and honey mustard dressing.
All of the components and dressings come in a tray atop the bowl in which the lettuce and a fork are packed. Some salads include dry ingredients in a separate packet, which sits on top of the lettuce. All of the produce and condiments are certified organic.
The salads, packed six units per case, are produced at Ready Pac's plants in California, Georgia and New Jersey. They carry a shelf life of more than seven days. The suggested retail price is $4.99.
