E. BRUNSWICK, NJ -- Joe Camarota of Alpha-Omega Amusements and Amusement Entertainment Management here, is the Democratic Party nominee for state representative for the newly formed New Jersey 16th Legislative District in the November 2011 election.
Camarota has been partners with Frank Seninsky, a VENDING TIMES columnist, for 31 years. In addition to running the operations at Alpha-Omega's far-flung amusement businesses over the decades, Camarota has also served as a councilman in his hometown of South Brunswick.
According to Seninsky, the nominee has exercised unusual influence in that position, often serving as the voice of the business community -- an especially valuable voice, since so few New Jersey state government officials have business experience.
Camarota himself does not hesitate to describe the government in Trenton, the state capital, as the largest "obstacle and barrier" to business success in the Garden State.
"We are now so close to having someone from our industry become part of this inner circle of decision-makers," Camarota said of his nomination to run for the General Assembly seat.
Seeking to raise $350,000 for the general election campaign, Camarota said he is planning to hold several fundraising events during the coming months. Meanwhile, industry supporters are encouraged to make any contribution they can.
A campaign website is in the early stages. Camarota's email address is Joeatwork@aol.com.
