GAITHERSBURG, MD -- Sodexo Inc. has been awarded a contract to provide foodservice at 20 U.S. Marine Corps garrison mess halls on the West Coast. The deal is valued at $766 million over the life of the contract.
The French catering giant was awarded a contract to operate 31 mess halls in February. That contract is said to be worth over $900 million. | SEE STORY
With the addition of the new contract, the foodservice giant will serve a total of 51 sites in Arizona, California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and Washington, DC.
More than 40% of Sodexo's contract with the U.S. Marine Corps are serviced through subcontracts with small, minority, disadvantaged and women-owned businesses, and with organizations that represent the interests of individuals with disabilities.
Sodexo, with U.S. operations headquartered in Gaithersburg, MD, posted $21.8 billion in revenue in 2010.
