BRISTOL, PA -- New from Rowe is the Model 500-3 Bill Breaker, a versatile bill changer designed for a wide range of self-service applications. The machine features an MEI bill validator with note recycler, and also incorporates three high-capacity cassettes for banknotes to be paid out in change.
Rowe, which now is the bill changer division of Megatouch LLC, offers the new changer in front- and rear-load options; it is the same size as the company's widely used BC1400 and BC1200 changers.
The validator can accommodate denominations of $20, $10 and $5, as well as $1, and retains some of the lowest-value notes to "recycle" as change when a higher denomination bill in inserted. By means of its bill cartridges, the Model 500-3 can pay back as many as three different denominations; the cartridges also can be employed to increase total currency capacity to as many as 1,600 notes for dispensing in change. An electronic user-feedback display enables customers to see which bill denomination is accepted by the machine, and the amount to be dispensed in change.
The Rowe Model 500-3 made its debut at the Clean Show, an event cosponsored by five trade associations serving the commercial laundry industry, held in New Orleans late in June. Rowe vice-president of major accounts Tom Kozlik reports that the new changer inspired a notable "buzz" at the show.
"Location owners love it because it reduces cash on hand and money tied up in changers," the Rowe executive said. "Customers saw its advantages right away."
According to Rowe, the Model 500 offers location owners the efficiency of recycling bills to other patrons. For example, it can accept a $5 bill from a patron and return five $1 bills. The machine then can recycle that same $5 bill to another patron as change for a $20 bill. Using the bill recycler in this way greatly reduces or eliminates the need to reload $5 bills, saving time and money.
Rowe also offers models that accept $50 and $100 bills, keeping large bills securely locked up. Other models can break large bills into smaller bills as well as coins.
The manufacturer sees its new Model 500 bill breaker as an ideal fit for carwashes, laundromats, gamerooms, vending locations, libraries, parking garages, ATM locations, casinos and payment kiosks. Visit roweinternational.com.
