BRISTOL, PA -- AMI Entertainment Network Inc. released its eagerly anticipated iPhone mobile application at the iTunes Store last week. The app is free, and an Android version will reportedly be available in the near future.
Called AMI Bar Link, the new app allows music fans to interact with AMI jukeboxes and ML-1 videogame terminals. Users can make music selections at a location right from the palms of their hands, or view their Megatouch videogame rankings.
AMI says using the app is easy. A built-in location finder lets users search for the nearest AMI jukeboxes, or choose from a list of their favorite or most recently visited locations. This feature is intended to help patrons find new jukeboxes, while reminding them of their favorite hangouts.
After signing in at a location, patrons can search for and select their favorite songs in the AMI catalog, view information about what's currently playing on the jukebox and find out about any AMI promotions at the location. Users can also check out different playlists or create their own.
Once a user selects a song, funds are pulled from his or her "app wallet" and sent directly to the machine. There is no minimum purchase, so patrons can play as much or as little music as they like with each transaction. "Priority play" can be selected for an additional charge, bumping the selected song up the queue.
A Megatouch Live account is required to use AMI Bar Link. Users can sign in with an existing account or create one in the app. Users can also use the app to check their Megatouch Live scores and edit their account information.
To increase a machine's visibility through AMI Bar Link, operators must register their jukebox locations. AMI said registration is easy and only takes a minute. Go to amientertainment.net to register.
