Harrison Fairstein, Competition Coffee Services TORONTO -- Competition Coffee Services has appointed Harrison Fairstein president and managing partner. This is the latest move by the 35-year-old workplace refreshment services provider in an expansion plan initiated last year, which included relocating its headquarters.

Prior to joining Competition Coffee in August 2011, Fairstein was foodservice manager for Toronto-based Broker House Distributors Inc., Canada's largest distributor of vending and office coffee service equipment. Earlier in his career, he was director of foodservice for Stella Pharmaceutical Inc., which invented Slim Fast and currently manufactures and distributes energy bars and other wellness products. Fairstein was also the marketing director for single-cup coffee brewer maker Bodecker Brewed and business development manager at Mister Coffee, a Toronto-based OCS company.

"Having completed a restructuring that began in August 2011, our company is now poised to expand our scope of service," Fairstein said. In addition to its custom-tailored food and beverage services for workplace clients, he reported, the operation has begun distribution of innovative hot and cold beverage technologies, with the support of its supplier partners.

Competition Coffee Systems delivers professional sales and technical service for single-cup and espresso equipment from Cafection Enterprises, de Jong Duke, Keurig, Newco, Wilbur Curtis and Jura, among other leading manufacturers. It's a preferred provider for Starbucks and Seattle's Best Coffee, and an authorized distributor for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Heritage Coffee, Zavida Coffee, Reunion Island Coffee, Mother Parkers and Segafredo Zanetti.

"We will be proactively introducing exciting new coffee and other beverage systems to Canadians in the coming months, through very aggressive marketing that will impact favorably on many leading organizations," Fairstein reported. "Don't be surprised when you see pointed advertising being run on your breakroom or showroom coffee machine."

Competition Coffee Systems is now located at 1719 Flint Rd. in Toronto, and offers 10,000 square feet of showroom, warehouse and office space. Information on the company and its products and services can be found online at competitioncoffee.com.
