Mobile, cloud-based vending retail solution allows implementation of cashless payments, dynamic scheduling, pre-kitting, merchandising and traditional route accounting on a single platform
SAN FRANCISCO -- March 18, 2014 -- Cantaloupe Systems today announced that Pepsi Cola Hudson Valley (Newburgh, NY) will deploy Cantaloupe's Seed Cloud Platform suite of solutions to connect its vending machines. The move will allow PCHV's full-line vending company, Pepsi-River Vending, to implement cashless payments, dynamic scheduling, pre-kitting, merchandising and traditional route accounting solutions on a single platform, while gaining greater route efficiencies, automating back offices and driving incremental sales.
Once the implementation of the new platform and operating model is complete, which is expected before the end of 2014, Pepsi Cola Hudson Valley's drivers will use iPods and iPads instead of the "brick-style" handhelds that older systems require.
"We are excited to modernize our aging vending business with an experienced and robust technology partner like Cantaloupe Systems," said Tim Tenney, president and chief executive officer of Pepsi Cola Hudson Valley. "Between their cutting-edge connected platform and the years of experience they have in modernizing vending companies with the latest technologies, we know we picked the right solution. Vending represents a huge opportunity for our business and we look forward to bringing it to the 21st century with Cantaloupe."
Anant Agrawal, Cantaloupe's chief marketing officer, added: "Pepsi Cola Hudson Valley is an amazing company that we are excited to work with in deploying our Seed Cloud Platform. They’ll be able to focus on what they do best without worrying about traditional IT issues that other systems inherently come with due to their aging architectures.
