DINO VEND: S&B's new dino egg vender comes in two versions, one boasting a realistic model of the apex predator Tyrannosaurus rex and the other, a less frightening cartoon dinosaur. The unit plays custom songs and dino roars, and incorporates a prize locker at the top.
ST. LOUIS, MO -- New from S&B Candy and Toy Co. is the Dinosaur Egg Machine, an animated winner-every-time capsule vender whose central feature is a rotating replica of a prehistoric carnivorous reptile. The machine dispenses 2" egg-shaped capsules or high-bounce balls. Described by the manufacturer as an update to traditional egg venders, the dinosaur-theme machine plays music and dinosaur-roar sound effects.
The Dinosaur Egg Machine is offered in two models. One incorporates a lifelike replica of the ferocious Tyrannosaurus rex and the other is a cartoon-inspired dinosaur model with a friendlier aspect. Each version is adorned with appropriate graphics.
Measuring only 60" high x 16" deep x 24" wide, the Dinosaur Egg Machine is supplied with a high-security T-handle lock system, two coin mechanisms and a bill validator. A special pyramid-shaped "prize locker" at the top of the unit can be stocked with plush dinosaur merchandise; keys that open the locker may be vended as prizes. After the patron has retrieved the prize, the lock traps the key in a manner similar to a coin-op public locker.
"We see this as the next evolution in the egg machine genre," said Paula Rinker, S&B's new marketing director.
S&B also has announced a substantial expansion to its product line, largely resulting from its recent partnership with OKK Trading (Vernon, CA), one of the nation's largest toy importers. S&B's redemption merchandise variety now includes some 3,000 items ranging in price from 1¢ upward. The redemption prize offerings include novelties, toys, plush, dolls and action figures, as well as electronic devices such as radio-controlled helicopters. Initial plans call for the selection to emphasize licensed products, including Barbie and other Mattel brands, along with Disney-themed items.
"I believe our array of products is going to be impressive, and we're offering the kind of products that position us as a single source," said Rinker. "Our goal is to be one destination for most, if not all, of an operator's redemption needs."
S&B is online at sandbsales.com. A new prize-merchandise website, orderremption.com, is currently under construction. For additional information, contact S&B by calling (800) 773-0531.
