CHIBA, Japan -- LAI Games reports that Speed of Light was eagerly received during its Japanese launch at the AOU Show in Chiba in February.
"The first time we saw Speed of Light we understood its potential for the Japanese market," said Roque Grau, director of RS Co. Ltd., an amusement machine distributor based in Fukuoka, Japan. "It is an aesthetically beautiful, unique and new concept. The game is very easy to understand and play, but at the same time is quite challenging for serious players."
Speed of Light challenges players' reflexes and reaction times with a highly visible array of lights: players must press illuminated buttons to win points. Energetic music and lighting effects complement play, creating a "fast and frenetic" atmosphere. The action takes place on an eight-foot-high open lattice with a backlit platform, which can serve as an eye-catching centerpiece for the location.
RS Co. is the exclusive distributor of LAI's Speed of Light in Japan.
In the U.S., Speed of Light won a "Best of Show Award: Silver Medal" in the redemption arcade game category. The honor is part of a new awards program created by The Stinger Report (London) and BMI Gaming (Ft. Lauderdale, FL).
