IT Rolls Out Five Golden Tee Live Virtual Courses In 2011 Update

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL -- Incredible Technologies is planning to roll out the five newest golf courses for its Golden Tee Live simulator at the end of September. The company reports that the numerous fans of the novel game, the first version of which made its debut in 1989, look forward with eager anticipation to the annual release of IT's latest virtual courses -- which aim to provide a healthy shot in the cashbox for operators.

The 2011 theme is "Any Time is Tee Time," reflecting the game's playability in any weather, at any hour. The five new choices of climate, vegetation, terrain and landscape for the coming year include:

Alpine Run: This course is laid out in the shadows of the Swiss Alps, with the iconic peak of the Matterhorn looming in the distance. This course features majestic mountain lakes, rushing waterfalls, towering trees and smushy snow. "Breathtaking elevation changes will make this course one that Golden Tee fans will never forget," IT reports.

Falcon Sands: Laid out amid the ruins of ancient Egypt, the pyramids are part of the course, not merely background ornaments. Also included are other monuments and statues, camels and -- as might be expected -- the biggest sandtrap in the history of Golden Tee, according to the manufacturer.

Grizzly Flats: This links-style course is not completely barren, but the rolling fairways and deep bunkers, punctuated by the very occasional tree, will have players thinking more of the Scottish moors than the foothills of the Colorado Rockies, IT predicts.

Laurel Park: Set in Paris's fabled Bois de Boulogne within sight of the Eiffel Tower, this course offers the opportunity to golf in Paris in a manner impossible in the mundane real world. Players who attempt to shave strokes by risking the many shortcuts of the challenging layout will encounter water hazards and intricately cut sand traps, which the game's designers claim to have crafted into a Golden Tee player's dream course.

Timber Bay: The Pacific Ocean is the backdrop of this virtual course, which is set near the coastal cliffs of Cape Arago in Oregon.  The pines are thick and plentiful, and IT anticipates that the spectacular ocean views will have players coming back to this course again and again.

Incredible Technologies observed that the Golden Tee design team views the annual courses update as an opportunity to increase revenue for operators, and not only by encouraging increased gameplay. Features like Hole 'n' Win, live tournament play, closest-to-the-pin contests and custom balls and clubs all have been developed to provide operators with new sources of revenue.

The 2011 update continues this tradition. New in the late-September release are three additional opportunities to augment operator revenue.

The latest version allows players to customize their tee shots by buying special Golden Tees. When using one, the player can move his tee shot anywhere within the tee box, and tee it higher or lower. These tees can be very helpful in surmounting obstacles and hazards. They're offered in bags priced at 50¢, $1 and $2, and operators will share in half of the revenue.

Anytime/Anywhere YouTube Shots enables players to upload and share any shot they hit to the popular Internet video site. This capability is offered for a modest 50¢ and, again, operators will receive half the revenue.

In the past, only the newest sets of clubs and balls were available for purchase by players. With the 2011 release, players will have the option to buy any of the previously released sets, as well as the new ones. IT predicts that new players, in particular, will find the new "balls and club sets" feature especially valuable – and operators will share in this revenue.

IT senior vice-president of sales Don Pesceone observed that the introduction of eye-catching, challenging new virtual courses every year has proven extraordinarily popular, and always stimulates sales. This year, additional attractive play options will augment that effect.

"Operators will be very pleased with these new revenue-producing features," Pesceone predicted.

Brian Jandula and award-winning designer Jim Zielinski led the team behind the new Golden Tee features.

"We continue to provide players with an entertainment experience that they can't get at home," Pesceone summed up. "And the beneficiaries of this unique and addictive play are our operators and their locations. 2011 will be huge."

Golden Tee Live 2011 is scheduled to ship in the last week of September. The company urges operators to contact their sales representatives or the IT Sales Hotline at (800) 262-0323, ext. 106, to ensure that their orders are included in the first shipment.
