IRVING, TX -- Chuck E. Cheese's has opened new locations in Mexico City and Riyadh as part of its plan to open more than 80 franchise locations overseas within the next six years. These openings bring the number of units outside of the U.S. and Canada to 21, with 10 more expected to open this year, including one in Trinidad.
Chuck E. Cheese's in Mexico City is the first in the city and second in the country. The Riayadh location is the fifth in Saudi Arabia. Both new stories feature gourmet coffee bars, and pizza ingredients that cater to local tastes.
Chuck E. Cheese's parent CEC Entertainment, based here, is now owned by an affiliate of Apollo Global Management LLC, a New York City-based private equity firm. The sale of the company was finalized in February. The tender offer, made at $54 per share, was followed by a merger.
