CHICAGO -- A recent article in The Huffington Post suggests a vending revival is now underway.
The online newspaper was the first media outlet to draw such a conclusion amid a flurry of coverage since the National Automatic Merchandising Association launched its industry growth strategy a year ago.
Healy and Schulte (Chicago), the public relations and marketing communications firm behind the campaign, said the story is a direct result of the industry's marketing efforts. Three of the machines featured in the story -- VendEver's cotton candy, Canteen's 2BU and Seattle's Best-- were on the campaign's Gratitude Tour. Another four -- Brodart Lending Library, We Go Babies, Go To Gold and Let's Pizza -- were sent from Healy Schulte's photo library to Huffington's editors.
"What makes it even better is that it was published on Huffington Post, which is primarily read by Gen Y on a daily basis, but mainstream enough that other consumers and other news media pay attention to it as well," said John Healy, principal of Healy Schulte. The news site draws more than 26 million unique visitors per month.
