NOTTINGHAM, PA -- New from Herr's Foods is Go-Lite! popcorn, a hot-air-popped bagged snack made with coconut oil and Himalayan salt. Herr's reports that coconut oil has a smooth, creamy texture that permits the production of popcorn without cholesterol or trans fat (and no coconut flavor, either).
According to the manufacturer, Himalayan salt is rich in mineral content that includes calcium, magnesium, potassium, copper and iron. Moreover, it retains those essential minerals, unlike more processed salts.
Go-Lite! popcorn is 100% whole grain, made without genetically modified organisms, a good source of fiber and certified kosher, Herr's said. It provides only 37 calories per cup, and is available in 0.65- and 1-oz. bags, as well as a 5-oz. package.
Established nearly 70 years ago, Herr's Foods is still family-owned and operated. It employs more than 1,500 people who turn out some 340 snack products sold throughout the world.
