PLANO, TX -- Dr Pepper-Snapple Group said it wants to replace 60,000 vending machines with units that are more energy efficient, according to the company’s new environmental sustainability report.
The company, which produces Dr Pepper, Snapple, Hawaiian Punch, Squirt and other non-cola soft drinks, has set numerous environmental goals that it wants to meet by 2015. In addition to vender efficiency, these include an 80% recycling rate for its beverage production processes, reduction of fuel during product shipments, reducing water and energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from the manufacturing process.
The company is also hoping to conserve 60 million pounds of plastic used in its packaging through redesigns and increased use of recycled PET.
