BUFFALO, NY -- Barron Games International has issued several upgrades to its two- to four-player QuadAir hockey table. The table now features state-of-the-art goal gates; the new goal system eliminates the need for a solenoid and operates more reliably and safely.
The upgraded goals, said company officials, automatically turn off whenever a blockage is encountered by the rising gate. Microswitch-controlled, the goals work in conjunction with a software update to the game's circuit board. The company has also updated its railing configuration to one-piece welded railings along the goals for increased strength and durability. The new goal gates, circuit board and railing upgrades are standard on new QuadAir units; a retrofit kit is available and can be installed onsite on existing machines.
The Buffalo, NY-based company also plans to release a new illuminated topper for the QuadAir. The new topper, which will be offered as an add-on option in future QuadAir units and as an upgrade kit, boasts attention-getting LEDs with brightness level controlled by the operator. Mallet holders are also integrated into the topper's design.
