Illinois, Iowa And Wisconsin Associations Set Tri-State Meeting: May 8-9
LAKE GENEVA, WI -- The Illinois Automatic Merchandising Council, Iowa Automatic Merchandising Association and Wisconsin Automatic Merchandising Council are teaming up to host a tri-state annual meeting at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa in Lake Geneva, WI, on May 8 and 9. The theme of the combined confab is "Together for Success."
Under the leadership of presidents Dave Campbell (Illinois), Galen Starkweather (Iowa) and Tom Konop (Wisconsin), the tri-state conference will offer a lively round of informative business sessions and enjoyable recreational activities and social events. Leading off will be the Tri-State Golf Tournament from 12 noon to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 8, at the Highlands Golf Course; the fee is $125 for a single player, or a company may enroll a foursome for $400 with a single check. Also on Friday, a supplier-hosted cocktail party at 5:30 p.m. will be followed by a dinner and "Chinese Raffle" from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Capping the evening will be a live auction and announcement of the raffle results from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.; a hospitality suite will encourage the celebrants to wind down in a relaxing atmosphere afterward.
On Saturday morning, May 9, a continental breakfast at 8 a.m. will precede the annual business meetings of each of the three sponsoring associations. The 2009 membership meetings are set for 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and will be followed by legislative updates.
Roundtable discussions will ensue at 9:30 a.m. Timely topics will include "green" initiatives, "healthy" choices and employment law, the last featuring a question- and-answer session with an employment law professional. The Employee Free Choice Act, currently under consideration by Congress, is expected to spur lively conversation. At 12:30 p.m., a buffet luncheon will conclude the formal portion of the program.

OAMA Plans 50th-Year Fête At Confab In Mt. Sterling: May 8-9
COLUMBUS, OH -- The Ohio Automatic Merchandising Association will celebrate a half-century of service to the vending industry at its annual meeting this year. The event is scheduled for the Deer Creek Resort in Mt. Sterling on Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9.
The meeting gets underway with a golf outing on Friday; the day will climax with a dinner and silent auction that evening. Past-presidents of OAMA have been invited to the dinner, and will be honored at a ceremony commemorating the association's five decades of effective representation of vending in Ohio. President Rob Cain of AVB Sales & Marketing (Glendale) will emcee the gala evening.
Among its many achievements, OAMA broke new ground in establishing a cordial working relationship with the state's public health and safety authorities. It also has an exemplary record of legislative accomplishment.
Saturday's agenda begins with a buffet breakfast before the general membership meeting, which will be highlighted by a legislative update. A roundtable idea exchange will bring the program to a rousing conclusion.
