ALEXANDRIA, VA -- The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, which will hold its 2011 Attractions Expo in Orlando, FL, in November, has announced that James Atchison will keynote the event. He is president and chief executive of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, and will speak on Nov.16 at 8:30 a.m. in the Windermere Ballroom of the Peabody Orlando Hotel.

The keynote address is the highlight of the GM and Owners Breakfast, sponsored by CNL Lifestyle Co. (Orlando). The event is a forum for attractions industry professionals to learn from the successes of top-level industry leaders.

Atchison has served as SeaWorld's president and chief executive since 2003. He previously had been executive vice-president and general manager of the company's three flagship Orlando parks: SeaWorld Orlando, Discovery Cove and Aquatica. He began his career as a teenager in 1985, parking cars and welcoming guests at Busch Gardens in Tampa, FL.

"We have long valued IAAPA's role in advancing the interests of this great industry and I'm delighted to share our vision for the future of SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment," said Atchison.

Attractions Expo 2011, which runs from Nov. 14 through 18 (Monday to Friday), is expected to attract more than 25,000 industry professionals from all over the world. More than 55 new exhibitors will showcase their wares for the first time, and the business program will feature such timely topics as a mobile application symposium. Behind-the-scenes tours will take place at Legoland Florida, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Busch Gardens Tampa's Cheetah Hunt and Cheetah Run.

Attendance at the GM and Owners Breakfast is open to all IAAPA Attractions Expo registrants. Tickets for the breakfast are $85 for members and $105 for nonmembers, in addition to expo registration. Information on event tickets, and online registration, are available at iaapa.org.
