Michael Spadafora, Accurate Amusements and Vending Co., U.S. Patent bonus credit system patent, coin-op machines, coin machine, amusement machine, Spadafora Bonus Credit System
READING, PA -- Michael Spadafora, owner of Accurate Amusements and Vending Co., has been awarded a U.S. Patent for a bonus credit system he developed for machines that are actuated by inserting money. The application, filed in 2005, was approved in March.
Described as an "instant redemption system," Spadafora's modular device generates additional (free) credits at intervals that can be either random or cyclic, at a frequency determined by the operator. The rate at which these credits are awarded can be adjusted by setting an array of 16 DIP switches. A variety of types of bonus may be awarded, ranging from extra credits or additional play when the device is installed on a game, to merchandise if it is fitted to a vending machine.
According to Spadafora, the apparatus can be installed in minutes and may be retrofitted to virtually any machine that is actuated by inserting money. This makes it easy to add the attraction of bonus play to a wide range of existing equipment.
