PRINCETON, NJ -- Heartland Payment Systems and Cantaloupe Systems (Berkeley, CA) announced that they have formed a nonexclusive cashless vending partnership that pairs Cantaloupe's Seed platform with Heartland's processing capability.
Under the agreement, Heartland, one of the nation's largest payments processors, is certifying Cantaloupe's Seed remote monitoring and hosted software and data services as a payment gateway for the delivery of credit, debit and stored-value card transactions from vending machines. Cantaloupe will refer vending operator customers to Heartland for payment processing services, enabling them to use their existing equipment and network connections to accept electronic payments.
"Cantaloupe recognizes the tremendous synergies and unique value added through its association with Heartland," said Cantaloupe Systems chief executive Mandeep Arora. "Heartland brings a wealth of experience in cashless vending processing with its micropayments and campus solutions divisions."
Bob Carr, chairman and chief executive of Heartland Payment Systems, added: "Heartland has long recognized the great value of real-time, remote machine monitoring and management to the vending industry."
