NEW YORK CITY -- TouchTunes Interactive Networks said it has placed its Virtuo jukebox in the NHL Powered by Reebok store in midtown Manhattan. The interactive jukebox runs TouchTunes' PhotoBooth imaging service, which is programmed with National Hockey League team logos for use in the store.
"We're excited to work with TouchTunes and introduce this fun, NHL-branded keepsake for hockey fans to enjoy all year round after visiting the NHL Powered by Reebok store," said consumer products vice-president Dave McCarthy. "This is the most exciting time in the hockey season, and we couldn't think of a better way for fans to share their passion for the NHL and their favorite team than with this digital keepsake that they can share with all of their friends."
In the NHL store, TouchTunes is positioning its Virtuo jukebox as a media kiosk. It provides a first-of-its-kind photobooth experience for hockey fans and demonstrates the range of Virtuo's technology, according to TouchTunes business development vice-president David Lane.
Store visitors can take commemorative pictures and frame them with logos of their favorite hockey teams. They can share them on Facebook or by email, and can sign up to receive special offers from the NHL. TouchTunes said Virtuo users at the store will soon be able to add their favorite NHL teams to their PhotoBooth pictures in thousands of TouchTunes locations throughout the U.S.
TouchTunes provides music and marketing solutions to more than 52,000 bars and restaurants. Its jukebox network has become the largest of its kind with 900 million songs played in 2011 and a music library of more than 3 million licensed tracks. The company says its Virtuo model, introduced in 2011, is the first "smart jukebox." In addition to PhotoBooth, Virtuo can now be outfitted with a Karaoke service that features more than 10,000 licensed songs. | SEE STORY
