TUKWILA, WA -- Avanti Markets Inc. has announced the appointment of Chris Vicari as president. He brings more than 25 years' experience to the post, including service with PepsiCo.
Vicari replaces Randy Overturf, a former Coinstar executive who joined Avanti last October.
"Chris's experience and motivation for success will only help Avanti continue to grow micromarkets nationwide," said Avanti chief executive Jim Brinton.
Avanti Markets produces and distributes flexible self-checkout facilities that enable operators to offer a virtually unlimited variety of items for unattended sale. Customers scan the UPC barcodes on their selections at the Avanti terminal, and can pay with major credit cards including MasterCard, Visa and Discover, or with an Avanti Market keytag.
The company is introducing a number of new features this week at the National Automatic Merchandising Association's OneShow in Las Vegas, including Executive Kiosk, Cabinetry Markets and the iACT active calorie-tracking program. Vicari is joining the Avanti delegation at the OneShow, where the firm's system and new enhancements will be on display in Booth No. 405.
