OKLAHOMA CITY, OK -- Athletes and tourists enjoying the Oklahoma River now have easy access to healthy refreshments around the clock from a new Shop24 robotic convenience store.

Total Express 24-7 LLC recently installed the vending machine at the OKC Riversport store in the Boathouse District here, a popular riverfront tourist destination that offers boating and biking programs, equipment rentals and lessons. It's the first Shop24 to be placed at a tourist attraction.

"We intend on filling the Boathouse store with items that will meet specific needs of the athletic clientele, while also offering healthy options for the families that come to enjoy the relaxing environment," said Ty T. Hartwig of Total Express 24-7. "The unique planning that goes into each placement is key to the machines' success."

With a 10x13-ft. footprint, the giant refrigerated vending machines, made by Shop24 Global LLC (Columbus, OH), can accommodate as many as 200 selections ranging in weight from 1 oz. to 8 lbs. Machines merchandised with snacks, refrigerated meals, cleaning supplies and health and beauty products are currently installed on several college campuses and in apartment communities across the U.S.

The OKC Riversport machine is the second in Oklahoma City owned and operated by Total Express 24-7. Last summer, the company deployed a Shop24 at the Oklahoma City Greyhound terminal. | SEE STORY

"This location is the first to be at a state or national tourist attraction and we are excited to see it break several records from our school, apartment and transit locations," said Mike Weigel, chief marketing and sales officer of Shop24. "These stores will only enhance the already excellent experience the athletes and visitors have while at this great regional attraction."
