PHOENIX -- The National Bulk Vendors Association is planning an enlarged seminar program for next year's Amusement Expo, VT has learned. Taking advantage of the amusement and bulk vending event's new format that consists of a two-day exhibit and one full day devoted to business sessions, the NBVA said it is looking to provide its member operators with something special for the educational component.

The 2014 Amusement Expo will be held March 26 and 27 (Wednesday and Thursday) at the Las Vegas Convention Center in North Hall 4. The exhibit will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days. Tuesday, March 25, will be dedicated to "Knowledge Sessions" conducted at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The business program also will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The new trade show and conference format has been generally acclaimed by NBVA's membership. The bulk vendors' group observed it simplifies planning and allows a more focused approach by exhibitor and operator participants.

"The new schedule is really going to give everyone a chance to get the most out of the show -- and the most out of the seminars," said NBVA president Steven Schechner, Capital Vending (Florence, AL). "I love the idea of a two-day exhibit preceded by a conference. We discussed it years ago, and now it's a reality."

According to Schechner, the lineup of NBVA-sponsored seminars will cover a wide range of topics: everything from accounting to merchandising. And while the complete schedule has yet to be finalized, Schechner emphasized that the program will be something special.

"We're looking to improve the quality of education operators receive at the seminars," he said. "And when we finally have our schedule firmed up, I think operators will be intrigued."

Schechner added that NBVA is now coordinating seminar and workshop times with the Amusement and Music Operators Association, one of the owners of the Amusement Expo, to assure an optimal schedule that will allow operators to attend the greatest number of seminars. "The idea is for operators to be able to catch as much as possible in that one day," he said, "and at no additional charge. There are many, many industries out there that charge more to attend seminars, but these are included with the show."

The National Bulk Vendors Association, founded in 1950, maintains an office at 1202 E. Maryland Ave., Ste. 1K, Phoenix, AZ 85014. Information on NBVA programs and activities may be had by calling (888) NBVA-USA [828-2872] or visiting nbva.org.

Amusement Expo is jointly sponsored by AMOA and the American Amusement Machine Association, which have consolidated their separate trade shows. The 2014 edition will be the fourth year that the bulk vending industry collocates its show with the amusement event. More information is available at amusementexpo.com.
